Acupuncture involves the use of needles and moxibustion to target precise points along energy pathways called meridians. I use extremely thin needles, and no acupuncture does not hurt. As the needles are so thin you will either feel nothing when they are inserted or a small sensation.

No, the needles are single-use sterile, disposable needles.

Moxibustion is the use of herbs on the skin. We use a small amount of Moxa (Mugwort) to bring energy to the acupuncture points before we needle. This will become familiar and a relaxing part of the treatment ritual.

There are very little side effects, acupuncture is extremely safe but there is always the risk of very small bruising.

No, you can continue your day as normal. I encourage all patients to make sure they’re drinking sufficient water and if possible, to refrain from alcohol on the day of treatment to allow your system settle.

Your first session will be focused on your diagnosis. This session can last up to an hour and a half. This consists of a full medical history, past symptoms, physical examination and what you would like to gain from treatment.
